Minneapolis you’re cuisine crown still holds with this restaurant that was recommended to us! Masu Sushi & Robata sits in Downtown right at a corner surrounded by so much character. We made reservations here, which I recommend doing, so we could try some good food on our second night in Minnesota and I’m happy to report it was really good.
Although ramen is not the same to me now (my own fault for tasting ramen in Japan) this was definitely a contender. Before I get into that I want to say that the service here was amazing. Our server, Tatum, was so nice and funny. It really added to the atmosphere in the whole restaurant.
Their drink/cocktail selection was super fun a cool. I’m still beating myself up for not getting the Godzilita, which was a Spicy Ginger Plum Margarita. I’ll probably have to convince José to take me again before we leave but that is irrelevant because this post isn’t going up until after we’re gone. TIME TRAVEL! (Not really…)
We got some appetizers called Sautéed Shishito Peppers, which came recommended by some friends. We’re not huge fans of peppers but got them anyway. I wish we had known there were a lot of them because we may have refrained from getting them. Don’t get me wrong, they were delicious but since we’re not fans we couldn’t eat all of them and I hate wasting food.
For main dish I got the pork belly ramen which was slow roasted pork shoulder with poached egg, fish cake and wakame. This was delicious and filling. I definitely tried to eat it all and left happy. So if you like ramen, this is a good one to get. As an honorable mention I want to say that the tonkatsu ramen José got was also delicious!
I loved this place and if I’m ever back here I’ll definitely have it in my list of places to go, and you should too!
